The church where we got married is very important to my family.   My brother, parents and grandparents all got married there and the marble mosaics were crafted by my grandfather's company in the '70's. It's the hub of the Italian community in London.

Armoury house was unlike any other city venue we looked at: a magnificent Georgian house set in a six-acre garden, just a couple of minutes away from our church in Clerkenwell. It's a hidden gem!

We hired a company to dress the reception room. It  wasn't something we budgeted for, but it looked very stark to begin with. They used drapes, flower garlands and a wall of fairy lights.

My uncle prepared the Italian themed wedding breakfast and my cousin made a phenomenal cake. It was so huge, it was the  focal point of the day!

Our favours were crystal cubes which said 'love' in English, Italian and Greek. All our female relatives met
up one evening to help me wrap them. It's an important Italian tradition to get to know each other before the big day.

My Top Tip: With families from two different cultures, it was hard to please everyone. We found picking customs from each background worked best."
